  SEA DOGS RALLY FALLS SHORT, LOSE 4-3 IN BOWIE!
Portland's 5-game road winning streak is snapped

(Bowie, MD) - The Bowie Baysox used a 4-run second inning to beat the Portland Sea Dogs 4-3 on Tuesday night at Prince George's Stadium. The loss for Portland snapped their 5-game road winning streak and dropped their overall record to 17-7. The Baysox improved to 12-12, defeating Portland for the first time at home in two years.

Dustin Richardson (3-2) suffered his second straight loss for the Sea Dogs. The lefty yielded all four runs in the second inning but only one was earned.

Chris Tillman (2-0) pitched a season-high 5 and 1/3 innings, scattering four hits and one run to take the victory. The 20-year old righty fanned six and left the game with a 4-0 lead in the sixth inning.

Julio Manon notched his fifth save in six tries by hurling a perfect ninth.

Jeff Corsaletti collected four of Portland's nine hits by going 4-for-4. Corsaletti had two singles, double and added a triple in the eighth inning. Portland trailed 4-0 but Andrew Pinckney delivered a two-out, 2-run single in the sixth inning. Portland's final run came on Aaron Bates' sacrifice fly in the eighth.

Kyle Jackson and Miguel Ascencio combined to pitch four scoreless innings in relief of Richardson.

Bowie's rally in the second started on a three-base error by Bubba Bell. Zach Dillon’s sacrifice fly gave Bowie the first run of the series. Blake Davis followed with an RBI triple and scored on Travis Brown's groundout. The fourth run came on Lou Montanez's run-scoring double.

The Sea Dogs and Baysox will play game two of their series on Wednesday night in Bowie. Righty Justin Masterson will take the hill for Portland - Lefty Chris Waters gets the start for Bowie.

Notes...Aaron Bates extended his hitting streak to 13-games...Richardson worked four innings for the second straight start...Bowie went 0-for-8 with runners-in-scoring position.
