History
Professional Baseball in Maine dates back to the last century. Since 1901 and the advent of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues (Minor League Baseball’s governing body) professional baseball has called nine different Maine Cities home, stretching from Calais to Old Orchard Beach. The Sea Dogs are Portland’s first entry since 1949, the last season of the Portland Pilots. Below is the summary of Portland’s professional baseball life since 1901 and a listing of other Maine professional baseball sites.
